The staff was informed Tuesday morning.
A popular barbecue joint in Colonie abruptly closed on Tuesday, coming as a surprise for customers as well as the restaurant staff. Smokey Bones on Central Avenue has shut down permanently according to News 10.
Not only Colonie, but every restaurant listed on the Smokey Bones website has had all of their hours changed to 'closed'. They have (or had) about 20 locations in the eastern US.
The company that operates the restaurant chain, Twin Hospitality Group, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in January, but the sudden closure of all restaurants caught many off guard. At its peak, Smokey Bones had over 100 restaurant locations.
