Get ready to cheer on Siena next week, the Saints are going dancing!
The Siena Saints defeated top-seeded Merrimac 64-54 to claim the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship, earning the Saints their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2010.
Gavin Doty, who has been instrumental all season in Siena's success, led the team with 23 points. 18 of those points came after halftime when the Saints came out with a 12-0 run. After Merrimack fought to get within 4 points, Doty helped shut the door by scoring the next six points for the Saints and they never looked back.
The Saints came into the MAAC tournament as the #3 seed, and now await Selection Sunday to find out who they face next week in the NCAA Tournament. At 23-11, it's unlikely the Saints will have to play a first four game in Dayton, Ohio.
